Summer outings in style!

Concert ready!!! The summer time is filled with concerts and outdoor outings. This weekend I am going to the Jazz Fest West that features some of my favorite artist like Babyface, Ledisi, and Eric Benet!! Concerts are so exciting and fun...who doesn't want to see their favorite artist get down on stage!
The question is how do you dress to impress yet be comfy! Well I totally suggest shorts or a sundress! A flat sandal or a wedge heel. Pictures will be posted of the nights venture check out my Facebook of course tonight. Tomorrow you will see part 2!!!

We all need a little time for ourselves

Do you have a new job, kids, school, or just really busy? Sometimes we need to take the time out and do something for ourselves. We get so wrapped up in what the world wants us to do and we forget about things that we want to do. I was speaking with my Sorority Sister, Kendra, she came up with a great idea of coming up with 5 things you want to learn how to do just for yourself. There is a lot of things that we mean to do or just don't have the money to do and it can become a downer. Kendra and I turned our downer into empowerment of becoming the woman we want to be to do the things that matter to us. We suggest that you take the time out to see what exactly you want to do. Here is my list below:

• Learn to paint and keep up with my nails  
• Learn a language: Arabic/ French
• My own eyeshadow
• Get my 6 pack back
• Eat healthier

We decided that in a year we would have everything done on our list. I am so excited to get started! Ladies when we are all done with our list we will feel so accomplished. Make sure you you set a realistic time to finish your goal. work actively on it and smile your doing what you want to do!!!

Runway Fierceness - Sachika

Web surfing on a Sunday Afternoon and I found treasure!!!

Of course, I am on my favorite website Elle.com and I stumbled over pure fierceness...Sachika! Sachika is a fashion line that launched in 2009 and has been taking over runways ever since. Quickly I went to their website and found amazing works. To-Tam & To - Nya Sachika are identical twins that have a real sense about fashion. They are the creators of Sachika and they continue to bring their bubbly personality to fashion. These women are jacks of all trades and master of all! Sketching, designing, public relations, and marketing just to name a few. 

There new collection, "The Awaking of a Swan" is so graceful, fierce, and desirable.  What the collection represents is a woman who knows herself and is gracing her presence on the world.

Tennis Shoe Pimpin'

Tennis shoe pimpin' is what I use to do when I was younger. A phrase I have definitely adapted from my family. I use to be the girl who would wear tennis shoes all the time until I finally found my comfort zone in heels. Now I can't walk out the house without a lovely heel.

Well turns out my Aunt has a case of "Tennis Shoe Pimpin!" We were headed to my brothers baby shower and my aunt wanted to wear: Jeans, t-shirt, and tennis shoes. I immediately had to come in and get the situation under control. My aunts hair was already done and looking fabulous we just needed a cute outfit and accessories.

Burlington was the place that we decided to shop because you can always find a great deal. I found a sun dress that was pretty and yellow. It was cute on My Auntie Tammy but as we were walking through racks we found the perfect dress. She looked gorgeous.

We also had to accessorize and so we heard about this street fair in Monrovia, CA. It was so much fun, lots of people of different cultures, yummy food, and all types of vendors. Through all the vendors that had jewelry we found one that had twinkling yellow earrings and bracelet's to match.

For the baby shower my Auntie looked beautiful. I haven't seen her twinkle in so long and it was exciting. This was another reason why I want to continue to do fashion consulting, personal shopping, and having my own boutique. Just a simple garment can change everything.

My Auntie Tammy is right next to me with a beautiful brown and ivory summer dress. The print is gorgeous!

A few tips for the day:

• Always try your clothes and shoes before you! Otherwise, you may find yourself back at the store!
• Check all tags and sizes
• Make sure you looke at the garmet carefully so that you don't purchase anything with a hole, run, rip, etc.
