Pearls of Wisdom - New you in 2012

I have been a little under the weather so I do apologize for the lack of post this week.
I would like to first thank all the participants for my Holiday Giveaway! Now lets get to the post!

It's time for a new year and I am more than geared for a fresh year. Hoping that you are ready as well.

Rev yourself up for the news year! It's time to make changes, set goals, try new things, challenge yourself, motivate yourself for a better you.  Some people may not buy into the resolutions but honestly it's important to reassess where you are and where you want to go.  This is a great chance for fresh ideas, new meaning of life, goals, and positive thinking.

Take the time to see where you want to be in 2012 or what you want to be by the end of next year. These goals should be well thought out and you should try your very best to get these goals accomplished. Experiment in 2012; hobbies, style, career, foods, traveling,  etc.

Please share some of your goals with us.

Fabulous comes from being a positive thinker and always motivated for growth!

Chocolate Pearls - Fashion Blog: Holiday Giveaway to Sephora: It's the holiday season and who couldn't use a $30 gift card to Sephora. With all the dazzling must have's from Sephora, I think it would...

What are you grateful for?

Last minute holiday shopping is no fun but the shopping has to get done. Trying to get the best gifts and fighting for the great deals can be exhausting. At the end of the day it is all worth it. To see your loved ones happy and appreciative makes it all worth it. The holidays are a great time for warmth and cheer and in these hard times today a lot of us may not have a lot to cheer about or with. We need to take the time to enjoy what we do have and appreciate the great things around us. You know...take the time to smell the poinsettias.

Here are 5 great things I am grateful for this holiday:

  • My readers

  • My blog

  • Helping others find their great style

  • Other great bloggers

What about you what are you thankful for?

The Ugly Christmas sweaters - Holiday Craze

The ugly Christmas sweater is a known conversation starter and has become quite the popular holiday item.

They were once considered quite handsome -- adorned with reindeer, shiny snowflakes and even lights. The parents of an 80's baby probably has at least one picture of them and/or their siblings all decked out in an ugly Christmas sweater.
The sweaters disappeared for a while, but they've made a comeback. Now-a-days, their designs range from the subtle to the outrageous — On Nordstrom.com, one sweater is currently priced at $600.

Singer Justin Bieber, Cee-lo Green, and Usher Ramond have been spoted rocking an ugly christmas sweater, as well as, the cast members of the hit TV show Glee.
The ugly Christmas sweater craze can be attributed to a plethora of sources; however, the men behind UglyChristmasSweaterParty.com — Adam Paulson, Brian Miller and Kevin Wool, 2004 and 2005 graduates of Indiana State University — started noticing an increase in ugly Christmas sweater parties in mid-2000 and have helped to propel the craze to new heights.
The consensus is that the majority of people spend 364 days out of the year worrying about what they look like and the sweater party gives them a moment to leave all inhibitions behind.

So, here’s an idea for the holidays:

Round up you friends and family for a good old fashioned ugly christmas sweater party. It’s a very easy, fun way to have a theme party. Everyone will look silly so you couldn’t help but to smile. Don’t worry about getting dressed up or getting ready. The worse you look, the better. It will put a whimsical atmosphere in place.
Reminder: cheap holiday sweaters are increasingly hard to find. Check your local Goodwill or Salvation Army headquarters for a rack with slim pickings. Some ugly Christmas sweaters are going for as much as $75 on ebay.

Happy Hunting!

Walked in Sephora and was graced by this pop of sass! Urban Decay, Heavy Metal Glitter Liner. This liner of course can be used for your eyeliner, add to your eye shadow and even eyelashes. If you want to stand out from the crowd ladies then this is a great tool to have.  It gives an intense color or a dazzle for the night.

Chocolate Pearls Spotlight: Gucci

The Sloane Street Store, London
Gucci

1940s
Gucci

Love to highlight some of the greatest businesses that have been in the fashion industry for decades and even dominate the industry. One company that has come a long way and continues to have great success is Gucci!! Gucci is such a huge name that has such a striking look with all of their collections. Gucci hasn’t just mastered hand bags, but ready to wear clothing, luggage, accessories, fragrance, and automobiles.
Gucci started off in the 1920’s by Guccio Gucci in Florence, Italy in 1921. He made great leather goods and was really known for luggage that was made. Guccio Gucci was inspired by London when he worked there at the Savory Hotel (Gucci.com). They have managed to expand all over the world and has been around over 90 years.
Over the years Gucci has been a favorite across the globe. They have provided the world with luxury bangs, fine linens, and shoes to die for.
Here are some items that we enjoy at Chocolate Pearls:
'sunset' medium tote with hand stitching and large studs with engraved interlocking G.
Gucci
oversized oval frame sunglasses with bamboo effect with gucci logo on temples.
Gucci

Pearls of Wisdom: Diva’s take your life back!

It’s your life!! How are you going to live when you are carrying all that baggage? We seem to get shackled down with all the standards and opinions of others, that we lose ourselves, and who we want to be. Living life free is too truly express yourself and put outside thoughts in perspective.
This photo was taking  because I was so mesmerized with the sky. Just reminds me how free I am
#No Boundaries #Skies the limit
The opinions of others should not dictate your life. A great quote that by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer is, “What other people think of me is not my business.” Found this quote very inspiring, very fitting for my life, and important to share with all my divas.  We have different relationships, career, school, financial, etc. goals but some of us may get side tracked by others opinions. We worry about what are girlfriends are doing, what are families will think, and sometimes these standards of others can keep us stagnant of our goal. We have to learn to keep everything in perspective; we have choices, and the freewill to make our own choices. Though we love our family and friends etc. they are not living our lives. It’s always important to use these groups as resources but you should not be drawn away from your ultimate goals. Create your path to your happiness. If it’s love you seek, going back to school, changing careers, etc you should work on that if that makes you happy.
Divas live your life to the fullest everything won’t be perfect but it’s your journey to reach your mountain top!

Diva’s I challenge you to take the time out to think about what your mountain top would look like. Please give vivid details of what your life will be like once you let go of the shackles of other people.  Please share!
